The fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games which was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, is nearing its end. As the demonstration sport, E-sports kicked off three days of action on the 27th. At the Indoor Athletics Arena, there were not only local fans, journalist from round the world, but also many athletes of other sports event. Ka Chon LEI, a chess player from Macau, is one of them.
“When I was in primary school, I watched my father playing chess. Then I eventually get interested in it, started to play chess when I entered secondary school. In the past 6 years, I attended the games, joined the chess team and stepped out of Macau to participate in some games from time to time. However, AIMAG2017 is the largest synthetic sports competition I have ever participated in.” The 18-year old boy represented Macau competed in standard individual chess in Ashgabat.
I love not only Chess, E-Sports is also my favourite when I have spare time. I can play Hearth Stone well. Although there are lots of teenagers have great passion on E-Sports, development of professional E-sport is not that mature. I tried to grasp opportunities to communicate with E-Sports athletes in Ashgabat.
